Frequently asked questions:
Is it okay to use on cavoodles with sensitive or dry skin?
We definitely know a lot of cavoodles suffer from dry flaky skin so we made sure a lot of good hydrating ingredients were in our formulas like coconut oil, vitamin e, aloe Vera, oatmeal, almond oil.
We also tried to make it as natural as possible without compromising on salon quality using a lot of coconut-based cleansers, the only ingredients that aren’t considered “natural” are the pomegranate fragrance (that way lasts longer on the coat) and preservative to stop germ growth.
They are also sulphate, paraben-free, vegan-friendly, hypoallergenic and pH balanced so definitely safe to use for sensitive skin cavoodles.
However, if your cavoodle actually has a serious skin condition like dermatitis or alopecia, you may need to talk to your vet about getting a medicated shampoo, ours is not medicated.
Is mycavoodle shampoo and conditioner safe to use on puppies?
Yes, we have developed our formulas so that it is safe for young cavoodle puppies and adults! It is tear-free, soap-free and pH balanced made with gentle ingredients for their skin and coats.
What ingredients are in the cavoodle shampoo and conditioner?
We have nothing to hide! We've made sure we have developed a formula that is made with plant-based, natural and gentle ingredients with a lot of coconut-based cleansers but also did not compromise on salon-quality!
Shampoo Ingredients: water, sodium lauryl sarcosinate (coconut-based cleanser; not the same as sodium lauryl sulphate known as sls), cocoamidopropyl betaine (coconut-based cleanser), decyl glucoside (coconut & glucose derived agent), glycerine, pomegranate fragrant oil, natural emulsifier, versathix (vegan & sulphate-free thickener), preservative (to stop germ growth), beta glucan (oat based moisturiser - ideal for cavoodles with dry and itch skin), aloe vera (has antibacterial and antiseptic properties for healing wounds), vitamin e (nourishes their skin and hair resulting in a silky shiny coat), voluminis (wheat protein), pentavitin (plant-derived hydrator), almond oil (controls shedding and repels fleas), coconut oil (adds moisture to their skin and coat to prevent flaking).
Conditioner Ingredients: water, polyquaternium 7 (helps detangle hair and keep it soft), d-panthenol (also known as vitamin b5, for long-lasting moisture and soothes redness), cetyl stearyl alcohol & behentrimonium chloride (coconut-based conditioning agents helps soften and strengthen hair), isoamyl laurate (helps detangle coat), camellia oil, preservative (to stop germ growth), pomegranate fragrant oil, vitamin e, aloe vera, beta glucan (oat-based moisturiser).
Do these products lather?
Our mycavoodle shampoo has great lathering qualities. However, our leave-in conditioner does not lather up as it can be used in either wet or dry coats. It is more like a hydrating-serum or mask to leave on the coat to help strengthen and soften hair.
Will they shampoo and conditioner strip colour?
No, our products will not strip your cavoodle's natural coat colour, if you use a hairdryer and slicker brush to dry them, then their coat will naturally look "lighter" because they will be fluffy and soft.
Directions to use:
Shampoo: generously apply enough shampoo in your hands and mix with water to create a lather on your cavoodles body. Avoid the eyes. Give them a massage to show you care. Rinse well and repeat again. Follow with mycavoodle conditioner on a wet or dry coat or both for extra freshness!
Conditioner: can either be used on a wet or dry coat.
wet: generously apply enough conditioning serum in your hands and rub through your cavoodles coat. No need to mix with water, it will not create a lather. Leave in as long as possible to soften the coat or any matting/knots. Wash out after 2 minutes. Can be applied to the coat again before drying or after.
dry coat: perfect to use between washes, no water needed, just rub through hands and massage into your cavoodles dry or smelly coat. Brush through with a slicker brush and leave in to keep them smelling like a tropical oasis.
